GRADING
When
we list condition, we will list it like this: VG+/VG. The 1st
grade refers to the vinyl, the 2nd refers to the cover. After
that, notable defects will be listed. These are our definitions
of the standardized grading terms used by dealers & collectors.

| M
(Mint): Whizzkid1 rarely uses the term
"mint". A mint condition record would be one with absolutely
no defects. If you see a record on whizzkid1 listed as mint you can
be sure that sucker practically glows in the dark. |
| NM
(Near Mint): A near mint record will
have no scratches visible on the vinyl, unless they are extremely
light, only acquired moving the record out in & out of the jacket.
The record will shine with that magical rainbow sheen that new vinyl
has. The label will not have any tears or writing on it, and it will
for all intents & purposes look like it just was purchased new.
Jackets will have no seam splits, extremely light ringwear, no pen
marks, no tears, and only the most minor bent corners. These will
be noted. |
| VG+
(Very Good Plus): VG+ is our most common
grading for an LP worth mail ordering -- highly playable with very
light marks and only the most minimal of surface noise, if any. VG+
covers are also very nice -- no splits (or splits that are no more
than an inch - these will be noted), only light ringwear, slight bends
and maybe if it doesn't seem too bad a corner crease (again, these
will be noted.) |
| VG
(Very Good): We only sell these on-line
unless we think the item is particularly unique or desireable. Records
may have some surface marks and slight (audible but unobtrusive) noise
but NO deep gouges or areas likely to skip. Solid, playable, used
copies of records that will not disappoint. Labels may have a name
written in pen, but these will be noted. Covers may have some ringwear,
some seam splits, maybe a name lightly written in ball point pen,
radio station call letters, none of which should be obtrusive to your
enjoyment of the product. |
| VG-
(Very good minus): Rarely listed. Vinyl:
visible and audible surface marks, probably pops. Should not skip.
Label may have a tear or two, name written in heavy ink. Seam splits,
ringwear, a tear, or heavy writing, all within careful bounds of reason.
All defects will be noted in the descriptions. |

G+
(Good Plus) or lower will not be listed
on whizzkid1 unless they are of fabulous rarity or if the cover
art seems suitable for framing. These items will be deeply discounted.

We ship on Mondays,
Wednesdays, and Fridays. Our LPs & 45s are packaged in professional
record mailers, with bubble wrap and flats for protection. For used
records our standard procedure is to ship the record outside the
sleeve (but inside a protective plastic sleeve) to prevent the record
from splitting the jacket in the mail. If you do not want us to
do this, please say so in your check-out notes or an e-mail &
we will make every effort to accomodate your wishes.
Every effort is made
on our part to see that your record will arrive safely to you. However,
sometimes (VERY rarely) the post office busts a record up. To counteract
this, you can spend some extra money to purchase insurance, especially
if the album in question is very important to you (insurance is
$1.30 for items under $50.) Uninsured records damaged in shipping
are the responsibility of the purchaser. Whizzkid1 will make every
effort to help you recoup the cost of a record damaged in the mail
if they are insured. If the record is damaged or arrives in a condition
you suspect has been caused by shipping, please contact us immediately
and we will work out a resolution.
For most single CD shipments
within the US, we will use a bubble wrap envelope bolstered with
cardboard bracers on either side of the CD, unless you request we
do otherwise. Overseas CD shipments will be sent in a small cardboard
mailer that looks like a little LP mailer.
T-shirts are shipped
exclusively via priority mail and are packed in small priority boxes.
Your packages will be
personally wrapped & blessed by the ultimate goddess of packaging,
Wonder WomLynn, whose skills with cardboard, bubblewrap & tape
are whispered legend among mail order customers around the world.
It is rumored that many German, Japanese & California record
collectors have small shrines in their "listening rooms"
set up to Wonder WomLynn, and that they pay small tribute to her
every night, asking her to safely guide their packages to their
doorsteps, even if they didn't come from Whizzkid1 & she didn't
pack them herself.

SHIPPING
|
|
Due to its extreme affordability,
we generally use media mail to ship records, trading cards, CDs,&
7"'s. If it's media, we ship it media. You will have the option
to purchase priority mail, insurance, and all that add on hoodickey
when you check out -- we also provide a shipping rate calculator
for you multiple item buyers and overseas collectors. We do charge
an extra dollar fifty "shipping & handling" charge,
but believe us, it all goes into packaging. All that cardboard &
bubblewrap isn't cheap. T-shirts, not being officially acknowledged
by the government as a communications medium (we know, the goverment
is behind the times on this front, but we all have to get over it)
are shipped Priority Mail.

| Whizzkid1
makes every effort to carefully grade and describe the records we
sell. But sometimes we make mistakes. If you feel the record or CD
has been misrepresented in our description, please contact
us as soon as you have inspected the item and we will try to figure
out how to resolve the situation, either through a refund, a credit
exchange, or through an adjustment in price that more accurately reflects
a mutual perception of the value of the record.
We ask that you inspect
your Whizzkid1 purchases as soon as you receive them. We ask that
you get back to us within a week of receiving the item if you have
a question or concern. It is difficult if not impossible for us
to do anything if we receive a complaint from you a month after
you’ve received the record.
If you do feel you need
to return an item, please contact us first! We will send you an
authorization number and tell you where to send it. Items returned
w/no return number will be looked upon with less generosity and
eagerness of resolution than items w/a return number. So this is
in your best interest.
All Whizzkid1 Pearls
of Whizzdom recommendations are based upon the subjective taste
of the pearl divers. While these selections are arrived at after
years of music listening and what we feel are refined and knowledgable
tastes, we cannot guarantee that you will feel exactly the same
way about a recording. Should you make a purchase based on a Whizzkid1
recommendation and feel that the quality of the recording is not
suited to your taste, let us know. Most likely we will be unable
to give you a refund, but in some cases an exchange may be possible.
Shipping costs on this sort of situation will be your responsibility.
Please retain the original
packing material from your purchase until you are satisfied that
it is what you ordered, in satisfactory condition. Should you need
to do a return, you can then turn the packing material inside out
and use it to insure the item returns to us in the condition you
received it. This will better insure the accuracy of your claim
and enable us to make returns or issue credit in a mutually satisfactory
manner.

PAYMENT
|
|
The easiest, quickest,
& most reliable method of paying for one of our products is
through the shopping cart. Most of our used items are one of a kind,
and purchasing them through the shopping cart immediately puts them
on hold for you & pulls them out of purchasing circulation.
You can use the shipping calculator in the checkout area and will
have a total in a very few moments, and then pay through our secure
server.
If you want to purchase
a record from us by paying with a money order or by calling us with
credit card information, or even use Paypal, we would be thrilled,
but the process is a little longer, and if someone purchases an
album you want through the shopping cart before we manage to manually
take it down then we will have to sell the record to the shopping
cart customer. Before assessing a final value charge to you, we
have to take those records out of active status in our data base,
and then we will give you a final charge. Really, we don't mind
doing this. We love your money. We want your money. We will take
your money. But it's easiest for everyone (but mainly us) if you
use the shopping cart.
Money order customers
and persons wishing to pay using methods other than our shopping
cart should e-mail us with the item numbers and titles they are
seeking, or should give us a call at 828-350-1160. Operators may
or may not be standing by to eagerly take your order, but if we're
here we're all about it. Feel free to ask us questions about items
you don't see in the database - we may very well have access to
them - there are literally thousands of LPs and CDs at whizzkid1's
disposal not yet on the website.

PRIVACY

Whizzkid1 will not sell
your e-mail addresses nor your purchasing habits nor your address
nor any other information we glean for transactional purposes. We
will also not send you our newsletter or updates unless you specifically
request them. Items posted on whizzkid1 message boards are the respective
property of the authors, although whzzkid1 reserves the right to
use anything posted here as testimonial, propoganda, and ego bolstering.
Credit Card Purchases
Your credit card will be billed as “Whizz Records and Compact
Discs”.
Security Policy:
• We use128 bit SSL encryption technology, on secure, high
encryption credit card processing servers to process credit card
transactions. For you this means that your credit card information
cannot be stolen, hacked or anything else. It is 100% safe.
• The Information Collected by our web servers is for security
of our servers only. By default, our web server logs all access
to the server to include, IP address, referring url and hacking
attempts. This information is not personal information but rather
general information as your internet service provider is the only
one who can match an IP address to a actual person..
